Flock XR works both online and offline.
To use Flock XR offline, you can install it as a Progressive Web App on your device. Once installed, you can use it even when there is no internet connection, and it behaves the same as the online version.
How to install Flock XR as an app
The exact install button depends on your web browser. Look for an Install or Download App icon in the address bar.
Installing in Google Chrome
- Open Flock XR in Chrome.
- Click on the Install icon in the right side of the address bar (a computer monitor with a down arrow)
- Click Install.
- Choose your install options.
- The app appears on your device like any other application.
Installing in Microsoft Edge
- Open Flock XR in Edge.
- Click on the Install icon in the right side of the address bar (three squares and a + icon)
- Click Install.
- Choose your install options.
- Flock XR is now installed on your device.
Installing in Safari (iPhone and iPad)
- Open Flock XR in Safari.
- Tap the Share button.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
- Flock XR now appears as an app icon.
Safari on Mac does not support installing in the same way as Chrome or Edge. Users can still access Flock XR online.
Using Flock XR offline
Once installed, opening Flock XR on your device:
- loads without needing Wi-Fi or mobile data
- runs the same tools and features as the browser version
- can save .flock files directly to your device
You only need the internet for:
- the first installation
- updating to newer versions (optional)
Your projects continue to work fully offline.
