Switch between Code and Canvas on a small screen

Contents

When you use Flock XR on a phone or other small screen, the Code and Canvas are shown separately to give you more space to work.

You can switch between the two views as you build and test your project.

    Code view

Use Code view to build your Flock XR project with blocks.

This gives the coding workspace as much of the available screen as possible, making it easier to find, add and arrange blocks on a smaller device.

    Canvas view

Switch to Canvas view to see and interact with your 3D project.

You can use the Canvas to test your project and interact with your 3D world using the touchscreen.

    Switching between views

Use the Code and Canvas buttons at the bottom of Flock XR to move between the two views.

You can switch back and forth at any time, so a typical workflow might be:

    1. Start on Canvas view to open a new, existing or demo project
    2. Build or change your project in Code view.
    3. Switch to Canvas view to play or test it.
    4. Switch back to Code view to make more changes.

Your project stays open when you switch views, so you can continue working where you left off.

    Using a larger screen

On devices with more screen space, Flock XR can show the Code and Canvas together. The separate views are designed to make Flock XR easier to use when there isn’t enough space to comfortably display both.
