Flock XR works both online and offline.
Once Flock XR has been loaded on your device, you can continue creating, coding and running projects without Wi-Fi or mobile data.
This can be useful when you’re:
- working somewhere with unreliable Wi-Fi
- using a device without mobile data
- travelling
- running a lesson, workshop or coding club where internet access is limited
Install Flock XR for easy access
You can install Flock XR on a supported device so that it opens more like an app.
For easy access, you can install Flock XR on your device or add it to your Home Screen. It will appear alongside your other apps and you can open it directly from its icon.

Using Flock XR offline
When Flock XR is available offline, you can:
- open Flock XR without Wi-Fi or mobile data
- create, edit and run Flock XR projects
- save
.flockfiles directly to your device
Your projects can continue to work offline.
When do I need an internet connection?
You’ll need an internet connection when you first load or install Flock XR on a device.
Some features may also need an internet connection the first time you use them. For example, the Inspector needs a connection the first time you use it.
You’ll also need to connect to the internet to receive newer versions of Flock XR.
